WHAT TIME IS IT?

Before starting learning hoe to tell the time, we got to review the days of the week, starting from Sunday to Saturday.

Telling Time

The verb to be is used to express the time of day. Use Is when referring to all the hours.

Es la una.
It's one o'clock.

Son las dos.
It's two o'clock.

The feminine article (la, las) is used before the hour because it refers to "la hora."

Es la una.
It's one o'clock.

Son las dos.
It's two o'clock.

Minutes can be added right after the hour.

Es la una y cinco.
It's one five.

Son las tres y doce.
It's three twelve
